Hawaii Cruises and Hawaiian Cruises
Nobody knows Hawaii cruises better than us! We've been on several cruise lines and visited every island. Call us for expert advice on your next Hawaiian cruise!
Koolau Mountains
It happens, even to the best of us. A demanding job, a couple of kids, aging parents, and well, romance definitely takes a backseat - to life. Now, here's the good news - you won't believe how easy it is to rekindle the romance in only seven days. You can visit four Hawaiian Islands-and reconnect with each other - in one of the most romantic places on earth. Romance is definitely in the air in Hawaii, along with the sweet scent of frangipani flowers. You can't help but be swept away by the moment when you're hiking through a rainforest with your partner, counting rainbows. With so many things to discover (including each other), here are a few suggestions of things to do on each island-all designed with romance in mind, of course.
Hamakua Coast-Big Island
The Big Island of Hawaii-Twice the Size, Twice the Fun
The Big Island is big fun for couples. The eastern half is the windward side and the western half is the Kona side. Kona means "leeward" in HawaUan, and that translates to warm, sunny days-so if you're an active pair, head west. For a three-in-one adventure, hop aboard the 36' catamaran Kamanu, for an afternoon of sailing, snorkeling and dolphin watching (there's even humpback whales if you visit December through April). Sit back and enjoy the views of the beautiful Kona Coast as you sail to Pawai Bay. Below the surface, the views are just as exciting. Fish of all colors will greet you as you snorkel over bright coral, lava cliffs and caves (while holding hands of course). Add a nice lunch and some wine (which is included) and you've just created your own west side story. If you're not the type to get your feet wet, you'll love the eastern (or windward side). There's plenty of hikes for nature lovers, but for a true spiritual experience, take a trip to Volcanoes National Park. You'll be driven along the crater's rim and get to see Kilauea, Earth's most active volcano. It's an experience that's meant to be shared.
Kalalau Valley, Kauai
Kauai-Naturally Beautiful, Even First Thing in the Morning-The Garden Isle
The Garden Isle of Kauai is bound to take your breath away (and lucky you, your better half will be there to revive you). There's a lot to see here. You'll have plenty of time to explore because the ship docks on this beautiful isle overnight. A must for any couple is a riverboat ride up the Wailua River to the famous Fern Grotto. Hawaii's longest navigable river provides plenty of time to admire the scenery (and each other). Best of all, once you arrive at the Fern Grotto, you'll be serenaded by a choir singing a traditional Hawaiian wedding song.
Sacred Pools, Maui
Maui- Nature's Amusement Park
Voted Best Pacific Island for 16 straight years, you can't help but be happily Maui-ed in this tropical haven. No trip to the Magic Isle would be complete without experiencing Haleakalã National Park, home of the world's largest dormant volcano. A trip to the 10,000-foot summit will give you both a new perspective on life (it also provides the perfect opportunity for snuggling since it gets cold up there). At this elevation, you'll be above the clouds, which makes for postcard-perfect photos (and some true heaven-on-earth moments). If you stay til after dark, you won't believe your eyes-stars light up the sky here like the inside of a planetarium. Be sure to have a long list of wishes ready for all the shooting stars.
Waikiki Beach, Oahu
Oahu-Make Your Own History-Both Urban and Paradise within Minutes of Each Other
The most populated of the Hawaiian Islands, Oahu is home to Pearl Harbor, Honolulu and the North Shore. Whatever your plan, be sure it includes dining at The Oceanarium restaurant in the Pacific Beach Hotel. It's oceanfront on famous Waikiki Beach, but that's not the main attraction; they've got a three-story, 280,000-gallon indoor fish tank that's home to over 70 species of fish. Call ahead to make reservations for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, and be sure to request a window table. Even better, to surprise your significant other, request a "fish tank sign" a diver will place it next to your table, inside the tank, to mark your special occasion (how about "Marry me...again?").
All of the major cruise lines have trips to Hawaii. Most of these are 11-14 day cruises that start from the mainland and end in Hawaii or the other way around. Norwegian Cruises are the only ones who offer 7 day cruises around the 4 main islands YEAR-ROUND!
